Winter Home

Winter Home

The moon holds a hazy gray glow
over blankets of white
made from delicate snow
and when the winter winds shake you
and bite at your bones
I'm your fireplace waiting back home

I'll be two arms for which you can hold
when the nights are so long
and so dark and so cold
and when all that you see
is as dead as the trees
remember, there's life in our love

the river of time moves by slow
though it's frozen in places
the water still flows
and if I find myself out on the ice all alone
you'll be the warm touch that warms up my soul
